The Sustainability Office at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) is your first point of contact for sustainability at TUM.
We coordinate the implementation of the TUM Sustainable Futures Strategy, oversee the monitoring of measures, and ensure transparent reporting. We pursue a holistic approach, recognizing that ecological boundaries, economic resilience, and social equity are deeply interconnected.
Together with the entire TUM community and our (inter)national partners, we are committed to driving society's sustainable transformation and leading by example as an institution, fostering a new sense of responsibility for a sustainable future.
Vision & Action Fields
The TUM Sustainable Futures Strategy 2030 provides us with a clear roadmap for sustainable development and describes our approach to making TUM a carbon neutral university. This strategy serves as our guiding principle, emphasising the importance of holistic and participatory efforts in achieving our sustainability goals.

Climate Action at TUM
TUM is actively committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Our Climate Protection Management reviews the activities and infrastructure of our university to reduce emissions.

Sustainability Day 2024
Our TUM Sustainability Day 2024 was a powerful demonstration of a collective effort and sent out a clear message: We walk our talk! A Sustainability Fair with over 100 initiatives from the TUM Community, 50 different workshops in all dimensions of Sustainability, and several thousand visitors emphasizing Sustainability is not just a vision but a shared mission for TUM's future.
