Our Vision
With responsibility, talent, scientific excellence and innovation, we are shaping the sustainable transformation of societies so that future generations can enjoy health and well-being in harmony with nature and the environment.
The TUM Sustainable Futures Strategy 2030 is our strategy paper in which we commit ourselves to holistic sustainable action and to the collective task of developing the TUM into a climate-neutral university.
To this end, we have identified fields of action, prioritised them and defined concrete measures in a participatory process with the staff and students of our university.

Our Action Fields
Six interconnected fields of action have been identified to align with the priorities and focus areas of the TUM Sustainable Futures Strategy 2030. These fields address our legally defined responsibilities and reflect our identity as a responsible and entrepreneurial university. Additionally, as a global hub for knowledge exchange, we actively promote the exchange of best practices for sustainable development
Research
With our research objectives and fields, we promote inter- and transdisciplinary as well as international cooperation with partners from science, business and politics, combined with a resource-conscious approach.
Education & Lifelong Learning
TUM offers over 69 degree programs related to sustainability. In addition, the TUM Institute for Lifelong Learning offers professionals inside and outside TUM a wide range of opportunities to strengthen their skills in the area of sustainability
Entrepreneurship
The ideas of researchers and students turn into innovative and viable companies that use sustainable approaches to reshape our society and economy. We help entrepreneurs seize this opportunity.
Campus and Resources
Recognising our duty to society, we are actively addressing a diverse range of challenges, from reducing greenhouse gas emissions, energy consumption and mobility issues, to improving resource management, biodiversity, equality and inclusion. In addition, we are committed to creating sustainable learning and working environments, thus fulfilling our commitment to social responsibility.
